Summer Heat
Thunder in the distance
That smell of dirt in the air
As a Summer storm
Is Brewing
Hot, humid, sticky…
A smell of ozone as
Lightning flashes
That feeling of anticipation
Waiting…
Watching…
With skin tingling
Ready for the Release

Here when a storm builds up (as in your poem) we get the sweet relief from the thickness in the air. I like the sensory images in this piece.

Thank you … we have been in a horrible drought for years … any rain is appreciated much more now
