Summer Memories
Walking through wild sea oats
at Dawn
Over the dunes
And…
There it was…
My very first
glimpse of
the Ocean
Brilliant blue water
White sugar sand
Unblemished beach
That summer of
1963 was
the Best ever
Now the wild sea oats
are only a memory
The dunes are gone
Beach access limited
Houses, condos and
Hotels blocking the way
A tourist clutter beach
and all their “baggage”
Ruining the previously
unspoiled beauty
with
“Progress”
At least my childhood
Memories are there
And
When anyone says
the word Beach
that is what comes
to mind…
Brilliant Blue Water
White Sugar Sand
Wild Sea Oats
Unblemished Beaches
