My Childhood
I was never a “girlie” girl
But…
I wasn’t a tomboy either
Just a regular kid
who loved to play
I played hard…
Went after everything all out…
Roller skating…
Bike riding…
Skate boarding down the
Methodist Church hill
And
on the tennis courts
Lived in the pool every
minute possible
My knees, elbows, arms,
and legs were always
evidence of what
I did best…
Had a great time!
Those small scrapes and
bruises of childhood are the
autobiography of my life
back then …
A small scar or several
scattered across my
knees and elbows,
arms and legs
A childhood story for each
and every one of them
Looking at the roadmap of
my childhood across my
skin…
I smile and miss all the
good times we had
back then!
