Dying, Finale, Honor, Last, Living, Request, Wishes

Last Request
I have no fear of dying,
The natural complement of living.
My only request…
I implore…
To whom ever has that
Ending task…please
Do not put my cold
body in a box in the ground
Return me to dust and ash
as it was meant to be
Spread me to the four winds
Allowing me to fly to
those beloved places
of my life
Floating on the
sparkling blue water
of the ocean
Filtering through the
air into primeval
forests of pine
Mixing with the snows
of the Appalachians
where people I love
have lived
Let the updrafts carry
me across the Atlantic
Returning me to my
Heritage – becoming one
again with the green of Ireland,
the Highlands of Scotland
And…
the Standing Stones of
Wales and England
Let me go willingly…
Honor my wishes
Allow me to become
once again a part
of all that is and was
ME…
