War of Words

Everyday the battle begins

all over again

 

Each of us…

my friends in writing

my wordsmith companions

take pen in hand…

attack the blank white page…

gently place fingers on

a keyboard and stare

at that blank screen

to continue the daily 

war of words

 

Will my Muse 

direct me today?

Taking my hand and

allow the words to flow

poetry…

short story…

additional novel pages…

 

Or…

 

Will she leave me 

high and dry…

scribbling and scratching

looking for the daily path…

stream of words…

inspiration…

 

To create…

To write…

To believe…

Can I win this

battle one more day

and keep my soul fed

through my personal

realm of words
