Annie's Muse
Poetry
Emotions, Loss, Music, Past, Remembering, Tears
Such a Girl!
Today has been one
of remembering…
days gone by…
Music reminding me
of what was…
what will never be
Again…
Emotions are high…
Tears…
I am such a
Girl sometimes
Really pisses me off!

Poetry
Carefree, Different, Happy, Youth
Youth…
In my much younger,
foolish and happier days
There was a stoner
boyfriend in my life
His outlook was happy
and carefree and not
just because of the good
weed he always had
But…
Because he viewed
the world…
life…
people…
and
things…
Through a different
lens than most people
His favorite quote,
“I’m alright, the
world’s all wrong.”
I want to go back
to those happier…
carefree…
less stressful
days….

Poetry
Anniversary, Letting Go, life, Revisiting
Anniversary
Today is the day when
I freed myself…
my heart…
my soul…
from the weight of
the world that was
slowly killing me
Three years ago today…
My Anniversary of
Individual…
Independent…
Personal…
Rebirth
On this day
Dr. Cupp taught me
my greatest lesson
in life
There will be people
who we just cannot
have in our life
The toxic ones…
Emotional vampires…
Killers of our souls…
Nothing we can do
will help them…
Make things right…
So…
We have to let
Rome Burn so
we cleanse ourselves
of those people and
their relationships
that slowly kill
us on the inside…

Decisions, Dreams, Foundation, Future, Goals
Decisions
Made some decisions
today after thinking
all night long
Sometime it just
isn’t worth it to
deal with people
who are unable
to share a vision…
dream a dream…
And…
make things happen
So…
for me …
I will go my own way
do my own thing
follow my own dreams
And…
restructure the foundation
for MY future
And leave those others
to flounder in the dark
I have set new goals
to put me on the way
to a much brighter
FUTURE…

Fear, Greatness, life, Loss, Vulnerable
We blame the trials
in life on
hate…
fear…
loss…
BUT…
It all boils down to
Vulnerability …
Do we let it break us
OR…
Do we allow it to
lead us to
GREATNESS…

Clear, COLD, Frost, Morning, Walk
Ghost Shadows
Waking to a clear
cold morning
She was surprised
by the heavy frost
Sparkling like a
blanket of tiny
diamonds covering
the world
Clean…
Pristine…
Undisturbed…
Her footprints
appeared like
ghost shadows
showing her path
Quiet…
Calm…
Peaceful…
Even the dueling
roosters and owl
were silent as she
made her way
along her morning
walk
Refreshed…
Rejuvenated…
She returns home
to begin the day…

Broken, Loss, Nothing, Pain
Nothing
Can a broken
heart continue
to be broken?
Can the shattered
pieces turn to dust?
Lost…
Numb…
Why?
The emptiness
becomes deeper…
Stronger…
Leaving her feeling
Nothing …

Blue water, Dreams, Sun, Warmth, Whiskey

Source: We Heart It
Beach Day…
Smiling…
She knotted her tote bag
and casually draped it
over her shoulder
What a beautiful morning!
Finally a clear blue sky
Infectious with the sun
she turned her face to
soak up warmth
and sunbeams
Once outside…
A quick walk to
her favorite beach
white sand…
blue water…
breaking waves…
And…
peace…
Waking from an
unplanned nap…
The dream lingers
like his brandy
kisses on her lips
Smiling…
she runs into
the crashing waves…

Grey, Soul
Grey Days
A raw, bitter, cold
day … rain pounding
the windows
fog rolling in hiding
everything in sight
The grey invades everything
consumes my soul
taking all the joy from
my life
Days like this become
increasingly difficult as
they become more
and more frequent
My body…
My soul…
My mind…
All ache for the
Light…
that nourishes
me and brings
me back from
Darkness…

Comfort, Crowing, Morning, Roosters, Rural, Sounds
Country Morning…
Country life…
Early morning walk
and the accompanying sounds
The neighbor’s Palomino
Whinny’s softly as I go by –
he is home this morning
and not in my barn lot
The rooster on the corner
has been crowing since
4:30 AM but now he has
company …
Never before heard cocks
are competing with him
today trying to wake the sun…
One to the north on the
next street over
And…
Another one somewhere
to the East
It is a definite serenade
in the early morning darkness
Silencing the owl that
usually greets me when I
enter his domain
What new wonders await
me before I get home to
the warmth of my
kitchen and a cup of coffee
