Moon Magic

Last night the Moon

was magic hanging

in the Western sky

like an upturned

bowl catching stars

Venus and Mars were

putting on their show

to the left

Breathtaking in its

Leaving me speechless

as I could not take

my eyes off the sky

Jupiter in the Eastern

sky jealous of the Moon

but beautiful in its

own brilliance

Tonight the Moon is

just as beautiful

The juxtaposition

of it with the planets

is not the same and

the magic is not

there from last night

As I get older the night

sky holds mystery and

awe for me — the mystery

of our Universe and the

ever-changing panorama

of the night sky
