Tired… Day 23 April PAD

Tired…

She was so tired…

Tired of the struggle…

Tired of the inequity…

Tired of being treated

as something other

than human

The bus doors open

She steps aboard

Looked down that

long aisle to the

back and thought

Enough…

Today is the day

I refuse to be

something I am

NOT…

I deserve the

Respect…

the option…

the RIGHT…

to sit in the front

section of this bus

to sit in any seat

I choose

And…

So it began…

Today’s prompt … write a historic poem.

*This poem was written in honor of and dedicated to Rosa Parks and her strength, dignity and pride for the Civil Rights of all people regardless of color, gender, or race. The bus seat was/is symbolic for the fight that continues to this day.

Earth Day – Day 22 April PAD

Earth Day

Today brings the

uncertainty and

potential violence

of nature

Typical Spring

weather in Texas

Potentially dangerous

storm with

deadly lightning…

torrential rain…

damaging winds…

golf-ball sized hail…

And..

Tornadoes…

Mother Nature in

all her power on

the one day to

celebrate her glory…

Just a typical

Texas Spring Day…

My Cat, the Diva — Day 20 April PAD

My Cat, the Diva

The runt of her litter

and the only female

a darling little white

thing with a grey face,

head and ears above

a delicate pink shell

of a nose

her matching grey tail

extending from one

of several grey spots

along her back

four tiny white feet

creates a dainty

little girl

No other name

but DIVA

could describe

my lively girl

who holds her

own with the boys…

Today’s prompt was a fill in the blank from the poem’s title …
