Gypsy Child

My life has

been a series

of travels…

adventures…

a gypsy of sorts

due to my

father’s profession

A new town…

a new home…

Every six months

or so

Attachments were

difficult due to this

rambling lifestyle

Connections either

made quickly and

just as quickly

forgotten

or…

not made at all

The lifestyle

shaped who I

am today…

An adult always

reluctant to commit…

to relate to anyone…

never to love

or be loved…

For fear the

past would

repeat itself

and be gone

before it could

really begin

Looking back…

my gypsy childhood

was my preparation…

a dress rehearsal…

for the inevitable

life of always

Being Alone…
