Far Too Soon … Rest in Peace, Sunny

Far Too Soon …

She fought the good fight

In ways many never knew

Brilliant beyond words

Stoic

Yet…

So much fun…

Loved ~

Life…

Music…

Poetry

Her friends…

Her dear fur babies…

She left us all too soon…

having so many

things yet to do

A true friend

to all she met

We miss you

our dear sweet

Sunny

Written in memory of our dear Sunny. The Twitter community has one less bright spot as we mourn the sudden loss of a dear and faithful friend.

After the Fall …

After the Fall …

The pain…

Confusion…

Heart aches…

Heart breaks…

Questions – unanswered …

How can it be that everything

is different …

Yet …

Nothing has really changed

Not long ago all seemed lost

Suddenly…

Unbelievable…

Earth shattering…

Loss …

What is truth any more?

One day things are fine…

The next hopeless…

And…

Now …

Fine again as though

nothing at all happened

Nothing was wrong…

Was it a dream?

Life is a series of

Losses…

Falls…

Or so it seems

How do we determine

truth anymore?

How can we ever trust again?

What are we supposed to do?

After

The

Fall …

If I Could Only Say …

In response to Writing Outside the Lines challenge Prompt 7 for the week of September 20, 2015:

envelope-typewriter-words-favim-com-404175_large
In our lives there are people, sometimes several, that we have things we want to talk to them about, something to tell them, something to share – good or bad, but the timing just is never right and those things go unsaid. Those things you could never tell go with you to the grave or at least are lost to the person you needed to tell when they go to theirs.

If I Could Only Say …

There are so many words

in my heart

in my mind

in my soul

that need to be said

that need to be shared

that need to be discussed

Yet…

Fear is keeping them to

myself … at least for now

Perhaps I will write them

all down and put them

in an envelope addressed

to you …

One that will be found by

some random individual

going through the detritus

of my sad life when I am

no more than dust on

a forgotten mantel

Maybe it will be mailed

perhaps it will be tossed

with all the other bits

and pieces collected for

years that no longer

have significance to

anyone …

living or dead

There is no guarantee

if mailed it will find

you …

Perhaps you have gone

ahead to pave the way

in the Universe for my

arrival …

Maybe then …

we will reconnect and

I can tell you

my thoughts…

my fears…

what all I held back

for years that needed

to be said…

And…

We will both laugh

because in the end

it really didn’t matter…

Some Poetry on Raymond Carver’s Prose on Poetry

Some Poetry on Raymond Carver’s Prose on Poetry

Carver as an older teen

happened to meet a

gentleman who changed

his life…

his writing in general…

Poetry in particular

After reading his

Prose on Poetry

experience I

compared my

writing mentors…

encouragers…

to his experience

Poetry freedom for

me happened when

I was told poetry

DID NOT have to

Rhyme…

My eyes were opened

and the words could

flow freely across

virgin pages lined

in blue

Like Carver, Poetry

magazine is a must

But…

Unlike Carver, I

have not submitted

An ongoing decision

that must be made

This is submitted for the weekly writing challenge I post at one of my other sites and inspired by the writing Some Pose on Poetry from Carver’s last book of poetry written while he was dying of lung cancer … A New Path to the Waterfall (1989). I have been studying his collective poetry, and this book is by far my favorite.

Peace …

The universe spoke to me tonight

Looking into the wide expanse of

stars and planets spread across

the deep black sky…

I felt first …

Then heard …

Our Mother …

Gaia …

Lift me up

Wrap a web of stars

around me like a

comforting blanket

And …

took me in her peaceful

arms … rocking gently …

tenderly …

taking away the horrors

that haunt me

whispering gently…

softly…

as I relaxed for the

first time in weeks enfolded

in her sheltering arms

A weight melted away

And …

peace surrounded me

The last thing  I remember

was the sound of her voice,

“Rest, little one, I have you.”

“Things will be fine soon.”

“Better —

Trust me” …
