The above is for Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 16 …

I am struggling with an issue of loyalty right now … Look at the quote … Answer these — does it really still exist … Yes … No … Why … How do you know … Use the above for the prompt this week.

I Really Don’t Know …

When did it leave…

When did loyalty get to be

nothing more than a word…

Forgotten meaning…

Lost trust…

Something I give

Yet…

Never get in return…

Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 15

This week has seen several rainy days. Rain creates many different feelings, emotions, reactions for each of us. Use the picture to write your response to this week’s prompt.

Crying …

The world is at a loss

Too much hatred

Too much senseless death

Too much destruction

of the …

Mind…

Body…

Soul…

As I cry, so does

the World with me

Shedding raindrops

like tears of pain…

Tears attempting

to wash away all

the death

the destruction

looking for

the sun to

light the way

to compassion…

to peace…

to caring…

to humanity…

If only a few tears

a few raindrops

could change the

hatred of the world

and lead us as

humans to find

our way to

universal peace …

Writing Outside the Lines … Prompt 14

If I Let You In …

I am unsure …

Time is not

on my side

I stand outside

waiting for

something…

anything…

But …

The past has

not been kind

My life…

My heart…

My soul…

My everything…

Is fragile

I cannot go

through more

hurt…

pain…

disappointment…

I want to trust again

But …

I cannot

If I let you in

there are no

guarantees things

will not turn out

the same

No guarantees

I will not be

broken again

There are so few

pieces of me left

intact …

I just cannot

open that door …

Feelings …

Over the years things

change as lives

ebb and flow

There was a time

You …

searched for me

were there for me

made me feel

wanted…

needed…

loved…

As time went by

you sought me out

but only …

in your own time…

for your own needs…

on your own terms…

leaving me to feel

abandoned…

ignored…

and …

used …

Feeling are delicate emotions

never to be taken lightly

As humans we need

one another, but

we need to feel

respected…

valued…

wanted …

and …

loved unconditionally …

*Note:

This was written for all the women who have been emotionally and/or psychologically abused. This abuse leaves no visible scars, but damages each individual differently … on different levels. Emotional abuse is more  common than most realized because women tend not to speak out about it, feel it their fault (as in any abusive situation), leaves damage that is not visible but long-lasting. Be there for a friend, family member or even a stranger who is a victim and/or survivor of this type of abuse. A warm hug, a tender word, a smile, words of encouragement all make a difference in their lives. Knowing that someone out there understands their ‘feelings’ is the beginning of healing and never being a victim again.

“A life lived for others, is the only life worth living.” Albert Einstein

Is There Love …

I thought of

you today

And…

Realized you are

no longer the first

thing I think of

in the morning

I may go days

without thinking

of you…

your memory…

crossing my mind

Does that mean

I love you less?

Even I don’t know…

The love is there

Yet…

A different love

Neither good

or bad

… just different

We grow…

change…

evolve…

relapse…

But…

with dead

eyes open…

The love is

always there …

Moon Lace

Looking through backyard

trees the full Moon

creates patterns everywhere

I notice a lacy leaf on the walk

a leaf that appears too real

to be a shadow

yet it is…

The golden Moon glowing

through the skeleton of

a lone leaf creates a

beautiful reflection of

life…

love..

hopes…

and

dreams…

The lacy remains of

a life…

a love…

my soul…

as I stand there under

a full Autumn Moon

reflecting on what was…

what was not…

and

what never will be…

Like the missing

pieces of myself

the Moon Lace

represents what

is left of me …

Tonight…

Smiling down on me

through a thin mist veil

cuddling it in the

Western sky is my

old friend the Moon…

A cool Autumn night

that has that true

feel of fall in the air

Changes…

New things showing

themselves daily…

The Swing

It was a swamp thing

found deep in the darkest

recesses of the bayou

History…

Mystery…

Lore said it was evil

My Grams did too …

I learned early on

to stay away from

that ‘damned thing’ as

Grams called it

especially during this

time of year when the

whispering was strongest

Even …

When it whispered

to me every day

The Swing called

me by MY NAME

Telling me it was there

waiting…

alone…

lonely…

missing me…

needing me…

to keep it company

to fulfill the prophecy

I dreamed of The Swing

I saw it in my day visions

It wanted me…

my soul…

Would it one day win?
