All The Same …

I was raised to be color

and class blind

Everyone was the same

No one was better

than another

As an adult …

In my workplace

the janitor…

the cook…

the secretary…

the teaching assistant…

all had equal footing

with my classroom teachers

No one was better

than another

Diversity … Yes,

but no one was

better than another

I learned that lesson

watching how my

father treated his

employees no different

from the clients

and that still goes today

Race…

Ethnicity…

Color…

Social Status…

we are all

the same

we are all a

part of the human race

Diversity makes us

all much better …
