All The Same …

I was raised to be color

and class blind

Everyone was the same

No one was better

than another

As an adult …

In my workplace

the janitor…

the cook…

the secretary…

the teaching assistant…

all had equal footing

with my classroom teachers

No one was better

than another

Diversity … Yes,

but no one was

better than another

I learned that lesson

watching how my

father treated his

employees no different

from the clients

and that still goes today

Social Status…

we are all

the same

we are all a

part of the human race

Diversity makes us

all much better …
