South in My Mouth
As a daughter of the true South
good food is a life-style
There is nothing better than
biscuits and gravy
This combo is a meal regardless
of the time of day
But … they must be accompanied
with ‘cream gravy’ as my
grandmother called it
That food of the gods made from
simple ingredients …
bacon fat…
flour…
milk…
salt & pepper…
in just the right ratio come
together as the best of the best
Side items if possible …
creamy white cheese grits
eggs your way
and cup after cup of
hot coffee preferably with
real cream
Dreams of my grandmother’s
kitchen as I sit drooling
before my computer
at 3:41 am
