Impressions
A new morning …
A new day …
A new month …
A new journal …
My fingers itch as
I uncap my pen to
begin the tattoo on blank
white pages with the
symbols that form words
I have taken too long to
return … too long to begin
again … too long for a renewal
As words flow from my pen
my soul lifts
and …
my heart lightens
while I mindlessly unburden
myself across the blank page
There is no control
no censorship
no stopping until
everything is said
With a contented sigh
I read the words and
know things will now
be back to normal
or …
as normal as things
will ever be for me

Writing, I’ve found, helps to unburden the mind, and I’ve barely started that. I know of that “normal” thing, but have yet to figure out what it’s made of…just that normal has been reluctant to come my way. Wishing for a better normal for you, Annie.

As you’ve likely gathered, I’m not the type to stop shy of finding my normal…I know normal is not as it is now.
