Changes

Tonight…

Smiling down on me

through a thinly veiled

mist

Hanging low cuddled

in the western sky

is the ever-growing

Moon

A cool October

night giving the

true feeling of

fall in the air

Changes…

New things showing

themselves daily…

She Waits…

She Waits…

Hiding in the

evening mists

She waits…

Hoping what she

needs will find her

But…

Afraid tonight

will be additional

disappointment

Yet…

She still

Waits…

Micropoetry

Micropoetry is a twitter phenom … creating a complete poem in the

confines of 140 characters.  I have not posted any of my micropoetry, but here

are two from last night that were inspired as I walked to the barn to feed the cats

who live there.  My thanks to my dear friend Cletis L. Stump who has continued

to mentor me and teach me along my writing journey.

Night Fall

Night Fall

Evening calling
Nature settling in
before twilight

Birds sounding  their
good nights
Crickets chirping their
gossip to one another
Cicadas sawing out
their evening song

Light breezes and the
wind whispers a coming
of Autumn
Cooler air…
Refreshing after a
day of high heat

The Universe smiles
As everything is as it
Should be…
And…
Will be…

Evening Shadows

Shadows fall
You turn…
I sigh…

Each of us
Restless…
Unsure…
Wanting…

Placing your hand
on my hip
I turn into your
safe arms
Molding me to you
as though we are
two parts of a whole

We are home
Secure in the
warmth of
one another
Safe…
in the
Evening Shadows

Night Out

A nice night out
Dinner at our
favorite place

Witty banter with
the waitress
Always giving us a
side of seduction
and lust
(order the guacamole…
it makes you horny)
she says every time

A phone rings
The call is taken
No questions asked

We take dinner
To Go

Candles on the Windowsill

Candles on the Windowsill

Night falls

And…

You are here

A Special time…

For us

You light candles

for the windowsill

Putting the room in

soft flickering light

A Special time…

Watching shadows on the wall

Shadows on our skin

As we share the

Language of love…

Ancient rhythms…

Spoken in shadow…

Exchanged in touch…

Slow stories in deep

Kisses as passion

Builds…

Spills…

Into the scented room

Candle light casting

a golden glow on

your bare skin

Enticing me to

Taste…

Touch…

Savor…

like a fine Champagne

as we burst forth

in the finale of an

Unheard Symphony

One only we can hear…

Feel…

Touch…

Taste…

Our bodies entwined

as the music speaks

to us alone…

through us…

becoming us…

in the flickering

golden shadows

Night Frost Haze

Night Frost Haze

Under the cold light

of a Wintery Moon

she strolls through

the woods

Frost falling around her

as she moves gives

the illusion of a blue haze…

A glowing halo surrounding

her long dark hair

Nothing hurried in her

movements

She continues on

her nightly mission

In her wake…

a black cat

weaving in an out of

her footprints

in the snow

Following like a witch’s

Familiar…

he travels along silently

and just as detrmined

Arriving home…

she bends down

removing her overshoes

and

lovingly stokes the cat

The In Between

The In Between

Each day, there is

that special time…

The time the

Universe unwinds…

Sitting back to

with feet up…

to rest…

and restore for

the coming day

Dusk gives u

Twilight…

Unexpected sunsets

that take our

Breath away

Melting into full

Dark…

The Moon rides

high in the evening

sky…overseeing the

Universal orchestra of

the Stars

Slowly turning…

Unwinding…

Until that first

blush of a new

day kisses the

Eastern Sky

Renewal…

Recharged…

The Universe rests

between dusk and dawn

Preparing for a

New Morn

Autumn Evenings

Autumn Evenings

At twilight there is a

Crispness to the air

Not only does it

feel different on her skin,

but the air has that

taste of fall…an

Earthiness reserved for only

this time of  year

Wafting through the leaves…

The scent of smoke…

Someone is burning leaves

Another smell…different…

the smell of wood smoke

as the first fire of the

Season is being lit

in the comfort of home

Many nights to come

before the World turns

Cold and evening walks

are packed away like

Summer clothing

Autumn Evenings…

Soft…

Gentle…

Comforting her as she

turns the corner for home.
