Ghost Shadows

Ghost Shadows

Waking to a clear

cold morning

She was surprised

by the heavy frost

Sparkling like a

blanket of tiny

diamonds covering

the world

Clean…

Pristine…

Undisturbed…

Her footprints

appeared like

ghost shadows

showing her path

Quiet…

Calm…

Peaceful…

Even the dueling

roosters and owl

were silent as she

made her way

along her morning

walk

Refreshed…

Rejuvenated…

She returns home

to begin the day…

Cold Snap

November…
brings the first
true cold snap
and a light frost

Crisp air
Refreshing
Sun warming the day

Some say
“Good football weather!”

For me…
Sweaters…
Jeans…
and
Boots…

Winter is peaking
around the corner…

Dawn

Dawn Walk
Fog on the horizon
Pink tinge to the sky

My skin prickles
as mist feeling like
early frost touches me

A surprising coolness
settles in before the
morning begins to warm

Giving a hint of
what is yet to come

Autumn…

Night Frost Haze

Night Frost Haze

Under the cold light

of a Wintery Moon

she strolls through

the woods

Frost falling around her

as she moves gives

the illusion of a blue haze…

A glowing halo surrounding

her long dark hair

Nothing hurried in her

movements

She continues on

her nightly mission

In her wake…

a black cat

weaving in an out of

her footprints

in the snow

Following like a witch’s

Familiar…

he travels along silently

and just as detrmined

Arriving home…

she bends down

removing her overshoes

and

lovingly stokes the cat
