The above is for Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 16 …

I am struggling with an issue of loyalty right now … Look at the quote … Answer these — does it really still exist … Yes … No … Why … How do you know … Use the above for the prompt this week.

I Really Don’t Know …

When did it leave…

When did loyalty get to be

nothing more than a word…

Forgotten meaning…

Lost trust…

Something I give

Yet…

Never get in return…

Universal Shift – Day 12 April PAD

Universal Shift

According to the Ancients

our Earth had a polar shift…

a wobble…

that put everything

just slightly off

Not enough to

feel physically

like an earthquake

But…

enough for the

sensitivities to know

things are just

not quite right

The Earth warming…

Glaciers melting…

More snow here…

Not enough there…

Drought devastation

And…

Damaging floods…

Shorelines changing

higher here…lower there

Things are drifting in

ways they never have

in the past

Life as we know it

is changing…

Environments…

Seasons…

Even the hearts,

minds and souls

of people

Can we survive

this damage?

Sorting People

Sorting People

A new year and time once

again to re-evaluate my life

Friends come and go

just like clothes that

get pushed to the back

of a closet

Forgotten…

Like those clothes

Friends who have

forgotten me will

be sorted…

re-evaluated…

placed in piles…

Over…

Maybe…

Keep…

Like those clothes

there are friends

who only come around

when they want something…

when no one else is

available…

they make the

‘OVER’ pile

Unless…

They can prove to me

a reason to give them

another chance

Then perhaps they

may qualify for the

‘MAYBE’ pile

Those in the ‘KEEP’ pile

still require re-evaluation

they can easily be

re-assigned

I take my friendships

seriously, but I don’t

believe in wasting my

time on sometime…

part-time…

people

Seasons Change

Summers end
Mornings have that brisk
crisp feel to the air
Afternoon heat
takes over the day

Life goes on…
One thing ends
Another begins…

Hearts are broken
Feelings crushed
Yet…
The seasons change…

Chill Bumpy Good

I used the phrase

“chill bumpy good”

with a friend

to describe the emotions

I felt while listening to

a young boy sing

How Great Thou Art

This performance brought

me to tears

This boy was

so amazing my

friend agreed the phrase

described the singing perfectly

and suggested I use that

phrase in a poem

Initially, I wrote a piece

of micropoetry…

But, I wanted something

more to illustrate

the impact of that phrase

There are events, things,

people in our lives that

touch us deeply in a

manner that the right

words are hard to find

When that happens to me…

my go to phrase has

always been…

“chill bumpy good”
