Frilly…

Pink…

A girly girl…

Her Daddy wrapped

around her little finger

 

She was Daddy’s

little girl from the

minute she was

born

 

He watched her

grow up and

come into her own

gave her to another man

 

And now…

she gave him the

most precious gift…

 

A Granddaughter

Pink Magic!

Pink…

Shining on the 

inside

 

Rough…

A rugged spiral

on the outside

 

A beautiful 

conch shell

displayed for

all to see

 

My eyes wide

with wonder as

my grandmother

held it to my ear

 

“What is it!”

I asked in amazement.

 

“The sound of 

the sea Baby Girl,”

she replied.

 

Not allowed to 

touch it alone

at first…

That pink conch

began my life long

love affair with the sea

 

My grandmother

is long dead

Yet…

Still when I

close my eyes

I am taken back

to childhood 

And…

I hear the sea

 

I wonder what 

happened to that

wonderful
