The Four Seasons – Day 11 April PAD

The Four Seasons – Haiku

I – Autumn

Season of my birth

Falling leaves and cool days with

Nights of Autumn Bliss

II – Winter

Crisp cold air that tastes

of Winter…Peppermint and

Wood smoke on water

III – Spring

Wild flowers and bees

Sudden storms that clear stale air

The joys of Spring rain

IV – Summer

Hot sultry Summer

Nights holding mysteries and

Giddy young lovers

Autumn Tease

Cool overnight temperatures
Grey morning
Chilled mist flying
A hint of Autumn

All together these give
the feel of Fall on the way

Later afternoon
Clouds thinning
A weak sun working through
Bringing warmer temperatures

Cooling mists give way
to steamy humid breezes

Just a quick taste
A tease of the
coming change in
Seasons…

Seasons Change

Summers end
Mornings have that brisk
crisp feel to the air
Afternoon heat
takes over the day

Life goes on…
One thing ends
Another begins…

Hearts are broken
Feelings crushed
Yet…
The seasons change…

Freshness

Mid July …
The height of Summer
102 in the shade today

Yet…

Sunset takes the
heat of the day to
its place of rest
for the night

Leaving behind fresh
gentle breezes with
just enough crispness
to be reminiscent of
late Spring or
Early Fall

A time of relaxation…
reflection…
and enjoying the
cool of the Evening

Suggesting new
things to come
Different things…

But…
August is around
the corner to
scotch the Earth
clean…
Readying us all for
the changing seasons

Four Seasons

Summer…
stifling
melting
hot
Paradise

Winter…
bitterly
brutally
cold
Inspiring

Autumn…
Indian
Summer
warm
Anticipation

Spring…
blossoms
winds that never cease
holding bits of Winter
to present when
least expected
Beauty

Our lives continue
throughout each
Season
Giving way one
from the other
as we seek true
love and destiny

Spring?

Spring?

A chill is still
in the air
Yet…
the Sun warms
the day

Don’t be fooled
Winter lurks
clinging to life…
ready to roar back
into being at any
Moment…

Tentative blossoms
brave the season
While the knowledge
of Mesquites tells
the true tale

South winds blow
often shifting West
forget that “in like
a Lion out like a
Lamb” nonsense

The lamb is lost
forever as the
winds begin
during the throws
of Winter and
continue far
into the heat
of Summer

Seasons

You came to me
in Summer
I was cautious
You were persistent

We heated up
in Autumn
Stoked the fire
Flamed the Passion

Winter’s breezes
Brought a decided
Chill from you
The flame flickered
Wavered…
Uncertain…

My soul had hope
for Spring
Yet…
the rains came
And…
Extinguished
our Flame

Aim for Grace*

It is inevitable…

The Wheel turns

and life goes on…

Accepting what we

cannot change

Working through

Grace…

We do our best

Day by Day…

We live…

love…

laugh…

As the Wheel continues

to Turn and

Life Goes On

This poem was inspired from the following Ann Beattie quote:  “What will happen can’t be stopped:  aim for grace.”
