Her Life~

Things were  not

as they would

seem

 

Her life was

uneventful…

most of the time

 

Successful in

her career

Yet…

Never successful in

her personal life

 

Outwardly…

She was the

ultimate in decorum

But…

When the sun set

And…

The moon rose

Her secret was

RELEASED…

His Secret … Day 2 of April PAD

His Secret…

Locked away in

His heart

At first she

Felt special…

Adored…

Cherished…

Loved…

Only to realize

She was being

Hidden from everyone…

His secret…

To use…

Abuse…

Take advantage of…

Lie to…

And…

Ignore…

What once felt

Precious…

Soon became

Her pain…

Humiliation…

Embarrassment…

As he unfolded

Her heart and soul

To break her into

A million pieces that

Could never find

Their way home…

She is pushed

further and

further away

 

What was once

caring and concern

is quickly becoming

cold indifference

The Letters…

One day I will have

the courage

One day I will 

take time

One day I will

read that 

stack of letters

I found

Hiding in the

bottom of a

trunk my Mom

had all my life

 

Who are they from?

What were they about?

 

The return addresses

are not familiar

Nor are the names

 

What does this mean?

Did she have a secret life?

 

Oh…

Those letters…

Secret Afternoon…

Late Spring…

A gentle warm day

The afternoon spent 

lazing in the sun

Sharing their passion

Stolen moments…

 

He had to leave…

She must stay…

lounging in the 

afterglow of 

what they shared

 

Later…

She collects her 

book…

quilt…

 

And…

 

with sandals in hand

walked barefoot to

her car stopping to

check where she had

been quietly reading 

for any signs…

any indications…

of their secret 

meeting in the park

before stealing away

to that lovely…

     private…

            meadow…

 

She smiled knowingly

secretly…

reliving the afternoon

 

A deep breath

Squaring her shoulders

she resigned to go home

prepare dinner as though

nothing had changed

Hidden from all

Never to be shared

Never to be known

 

Each kept their 

own counsel

Together…

And…

Apart…

 

Years pass

Things change

People move on

Yet…

The wind knows all

Hiding in the mist

Some good…

Some bad…

Others painful…

Or

Pleasure…

 

We all have them

Some are known

by a few…

some by only one…

 

Yet…

 

They are always there…

A part of each of us

Hiding in the mist

Unseen in the shadows

Who Are You?

who or what

you seem

 

You are…

Someone hiding

behind an assumed

name and created

persona

 

Quite by accident

I discovered

Your secret

 

Not as careful as

you thought…

careless mistakes

 

I know…

Yet –

You don’t know

I know

 

Allowing you to

dig deeper and

deeper into the

lie that is your

Life

Shadow Dancers

Dancing with her

shadow

Holding secrets

never to be told

 

Across the way

another shadow

Matching her dance

move for move

 

Surprised…

Intrigued…

She dances closer

 

Changing her steps…

her rhythms…

her moves…

 

A heartbeat later…

There it was…

following her

every move and

drawing closer

 

A sudden twirl

a side-step

And…

He had her

in his arms

 

What began as two

was now one…

moving together

under the Moon
