Wronged

My life was completely

changed by one wrong

move …

a wrong decisions …

misjudging people and

believing they were

something different from

what they really are

 

Living a lie not only

keeps a person on

the constant defensive

but causes untold and

unexpected influences

on people being lied to …

lied about …

making reality a

universe of untruths

and trust to be

altered forever …

And ~ I Shiver

Inside …

Everyone saw you as the

perfect catch

A man of you word…

Someone dedicated not only

to people but faith

 

No one knew the secret

No one knew the darkness

How your soul hid the

deepest truth …

But I did …

 

Your delight in putting me down

Me personally…

My friends..

Even my chosen career…

Nothing was safe when you began

to berate me…

embarrass me…

destroy my soul with your words

or even worse with your silence

 

Abuse comes in many forms

your choice left nothing visible

nothing that I could show others

and say … “This is what he does to me.”

I suffered in silence for ten long

years before I decided not to be

your victim ever again …

Or …

To ever let anyone treat

me in such a way again …

After the Fall …

The pain…

Confusion…

Heart aches…

Heart breaks…

Questions – unanswered …

How can it be that everything

is different …

Yet …

Nothing has really changed

Not long ago all seemed lost

Suddenly…

Unbelievable…

Earth shattering…

Loss …

What is truth any more?

One day things are fine…

The next hopeless…

And…

Now …

Fine again as though

nothing at all happened

Nothing was wrong…

Was it a dream?

Life is a series of

Losses…

Falls…

Or so it seems

How do we determine

truth anymore?

How can we ever trust again?

What are we supposed to do?

Cracked…

The mirror reverses

everything

Yet…

Tells all…

Reflects the truth

as well as lies

 

Moving closer

She touches herself 

No longer recognizing

the face in the mirror

 

When did the change happen?

Where did she go?

Who is she now?

 

With a lightning flash

the mirror cracked

And…

Her true self escaped

returning her soul 

to reality…

 

No longer held prisoner

by someone she was

Never

Meant to be…

He gave her the Stars

 

Their love was

strong…

true…

lasting…

 

Their story was on 

told over and over

 

Universal…

Touching…

 

Never Ending…

Trust

Holding my head back

You pour the serum

Looking for truth

you say…

“Look in the mirror”

 

I reply …

 

The truth is just 

over your shoulder

Follow my eyes

and your lies

are revealed

 

Truth ~ has always

been on my lips

 

Trust ~ has escaped

you and is replaced

with lies

 

Drink of the potion…

My words will

never change…

 

Yet…

 

With your words

all will be revealed

Guilt

Constantly afraid of

offending others

There is guilt where

none should be

 

A dear friend once

told me…

“Don’t let the 

insecurities of others

try your soul.”

 

I try to live by

those words

Such sage advice

Until…

something happens

and the old feelings

of guilt appear

where none should be

 

I go back to the 

advice of my friend…

Those whispers of truth

always keep me sane

when those feelings

of guilt creep around

the dark corners

of my soul
