Three To Get Ready …
Day 3 – April PAD
The third day of about any new routine is the hardest, including the 2016 April PAD Challenge. Let’s get through this together and own this month of poeming.
For today’s prompt, take the phrase “Three (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles include: “Three Blind Hippos,” “Three Muskrats,” “Three’s Company,” “Three Movies Is Too Many for The Hobbit, Peter Jackson (just saying),” and so on.

Three To Get Ready …
I am the Queen of Procrastination
Always have been … always will be
Even this prompt today has been
put off and put off and put off
as I write other things that need
writing yet could be written
any other time …
All along in my mind I keep hearing:
One For the Money
Two For the Show
Three to Get Ready
And
Four to Go
Such is life …
Such is the life of a poet
Such is the life of a writer
Sometimes the words flow
and I skip directly to the
Four to Go not needing
preparation of the
Three previous steps
to get there
Sometimes I get locked
into Three to Get Ready
for way too long … even
cycling back through
one and two to only return
to three and sit there
pen in hand or fingers
tapping out a beat on
the keyboard waiting
for the words to magically
appear and form themselves
into something that might
if I am lucky resemble
a poem
So …
Here I sit …
Fingers tapping …
Brain in a fog …
Muse on vacation …
trying to get past
Three To Get Ready…
