Two Voices

“We need to talk,” she said.

“Oh, that sounds like fun!” he said.

“This is serious,” she said.

“You are never serious,” he said.

“Come on, what gives?” he asked.

“Things must be said,” she replied.

“We need to do something fun,” he continued.

“STOP … please listen,” she pleaded.

Too many times we find ourselves

in conversations that must take place

however…

one of the parties is in deep denial

and tries to redirect the situation.

Life is a balance of

good and bad,

difficult and easy,

seriousness and fun

with people all too often

on different pages at

the same time …

neither giving way

or listening to the other
