Day 17: Writer’s Digest April 2016 PAD

Today is International Haiku Poetry Day! So guess what we’re doing today?

For today’s prompt, write a haiku. Simple as that. Or well, if you’d prefer, write a poem about haiku; I’ve done this before. So that’s an option too; or write about poetic forms in general.

Texas Spring

Thunder Lightning Rain

Outside the storm rages on

Inside calm prevails

Your haiku is more in the spirit than mine. I just have a hard time getting my head around the format…or any particular rules. Could be my lack of formal training in writing, or just being unwilling to learn all the conventions.

Used the 5/7/5 rule I was taught in 5the grade … words came from storm booming at the time!
