Six Degrees and All That …

 

Throughout the Universe we exist as

bits and pieces … atoms floating

in deep space …

always changing, moving, growing

 

We are all connected on many

levels …

mental…

emotional…

cellular…

each with difference

as well as similarities

 

For me it is a wonder

every time I make the

realization of connecting

with someone through

someone through someone else

 

Humanity cannot be

separated from one another

We are the web holding

everything and everyone

Together …

To Touch the Stars

There are special times in life

when we are given the

opportunity to experience

something remarkable

 

To reach out and

touch the stars…

to become one

with the night…

one with the

Universe…

 

Never let that

opportunity pass you

by in life

It is something that

may not happen again

 

The Universe is there

for us to experience

yet, we must be open

and aware when the

right time is presented

to us and realize

that amazing moment

for what it is …

Between Light and Dark

It is said there is a fine line between

love and hate

genius and madness

friendship and strangers

Sometimes it is grey

Sometimes deepest black

The line is there nevertheless

 

It seems my life is in

limbo …

the fine line …

wavering between

grey and black

 

Never knowing how things

will be from one minute

to the next

How people will act…

React…

Life seems to go from

weird to …

weirder to…

weirdest on any

given day

Today has been

one of the weirdest

of all …

 

Perhaps I am not

supposed to understand

to know what the

Universe has planned

 

So…

I will straddle that fine

line and

follow where it may lead

Not questioning…

Not worrying…

Only trying to accept

and go on…

The Universe

Once that door opened

When I saw the possibilities

I knew the time was now

No more holding on…

holding back…

pretending to be someone

I could never be…

 

I saw my future

The possibilities awaiting

No lies…

No manipulation…

No ego getting in the way…

 

The stars called my name

Begging me to follow

Challenging me to

take that one chance…

All I had to do was …

Just open the door

Walk away

And become

one with the stars …

Peace …

Source: We Heart It

The universe spoke to me tonight

Looking into the wide expanse of

stars and planets spread across

the deep black sky…

I felt first …

Then heard …

Our Mother …

Gaia …

Lift me up

Wrap a web of stars

around me like a

comforting blanket

And …

took me in her peaceful

arms … rocking gently …

tenderly …

taking away the horrors

that haunt me

whispering gently…

softly…

as I relaxed for the

first time in weeks enfolded

in her sheltering arms

A weight melted away

And …

peace surrounded me

 

The last thing  I remember

was the sound of her voice,

“Rest, little one, I have you.”

“Things will be fine soon.”

“Better —

Trust me” …

Moon Power

Tonight as the heat

of the day cools and

the south breeze brings

welcomed relief to

the night air

I felt a slight

shift…

a tiny realignment…

a relief…

 

Cosmic forces are still

strong and all indications

point to a continuation

until the new year…

the turning of the wheel

 

The Blue Moon is still

two days away

Yet…

the magic of that rare

event is beginning…

The shifting of the

Universe is like that

cooling of the nigh air

A positive relief as

things begin to realign…

shift…

define…

And…

retune…

the Cosmos …

Moon Magic

Last night the Moon

was magic hanging

in the Western sky

like an upturned

bowl catching stars

Venus and Mars were

putting on their show

to the left

 

Breathtaking in its

Beauty…

Leaving me speechless

as I could not take

my eyes off the sky

 

Jupiter in the Eastern

sky jealous of the Moon

but beautiful in its

own brilliance

 

Tonight the Moon is

just as beautiful

But…

The juxtaposition

of it with the planets

is not the same and

the magic is not

there from last night

 

As I get older the night

sky holds mystery and

awe for me — the mystery

of our Universe and the

ever-changing panorama

of the night sky

Spirit…

We are all parts
of the Universe
Moonbeams…
Stardust…
Ancient beings
and Spirits

Our lives are spent
looking for others…
That special soul
the one that
feels like home

The lucky ones
find at least one
other home
The Blesses fine
more than one

Move On…

There comes that day

when your heart catches 

up to your head

And…

You no longer care

 

The pain is gone

The shame non-existent

The feelings you once held

No longer matter

 

With a lifted weight

And…

A sigh

 

You know this is the

day you finally let go

So…

You can move on…

Hawk’s Paradise

Early Saturday morning…

An outdoor chapel

atop a hill overlooking

the winding Guadalupe

as it meanders through

rugged hill country beauty

 

Gracefully…

Majestically…

Soaring overhead as

poetic words are

shared with the group

 

The hawk…

drawn to the beauty

of an early Autumn morning…

the gathering of believers…

Or…

the soothing words being

read by our leader 

Glides above us in

all its glory

 

Regardless of the reason

The Hawk becomes 

A Prayer…

A benediction of sorts

Honoring nature’s 

grace and beauty

This poem was inspired from a moment years ago when I attended a Writing Retreat held at Mo Ranch Presbyterian Center located in the Texas Hill Country along the Guadalupe River outside Hunt, Texas. The picture above is the actual place … Chapel on the Hill at Nicklos Place overlooking the amazing Guadalupe River Valley below. This retreat is very special to me and where I go to unwind, recharge, and regroup when life becomes more than I want to admit.
